Pollution and Environment

Instructions for your blog 2.
For this second blog, you will write about a problem we as human beings and the Earth in general is facing due to the global warming or the pollution of the environment.
First, you need to take or find out a picture that represents this problem (you upload the picture where you write your comment)
After that, under the picture you will write a description about this problem. You can talk about aspects like: How is it caused? Which are the causes of this problem? What consequences is this problem bringing to human and wild life? Where is it more common? Is there any solution to eradicate this problem?
The following is an example I am providing you:

Red Tide
The red tides take place as consequence of the explosive increasing of a population of tiny seaweeds. They can be provoked because of polluted water from towns, houses or entire cities that goes into the ocean. Because of this contamination, the red tides produce toxins that get into the bodies of animals such as oysters, fish, shell-fish, lobsters, shrimps and crabs. When people or animals consume them, they can cause many diseases as stomachache and severe diarrheas or even in the most serious cases death in animals as well as human beings that ate them. This problem is very common in many countries where they do not have a project of treatment for polluted or residual water and every year affect the economy fishermen, sailors and customers in general.

  3. This is another serious problem for the nature around us as more and more and more cars are neglecting their conditions of control of smoke and toxic gases ... loss arising cars a gas called carbon dioxide (CO2) which has pollutants and with very negative effects on the health of humans, animals and plants ... these gases to be removed from the car up in the air and weather conditions to the ozone layer which breaks up and the rays of sunshine each time are more harmful to life on this planet ... also get caught in the clouds and the rain fall as acid rain threatening living species and our health ... drivers should review the terms of your vehicle and take it check to measure how clean is .... take care of our planet that disasters do not occur because the do .. but because we provoke them ...

  4. Acid rain is formed when moisture in the air combines with nitrogen oxides and sulfur dioxide emitted by factories, power plants and vehicles that burn coal or petroleum products. This is because the chemicals are suspended in the atmosphere with the water rushing. Most of these acidic substances from power plants although there are also those resulting from the combustion of fossil fuels such as those used in combustion engines. Finally, these chemicals fall to earth accompanied by the precipitation, forming acid rain.
When precipitation occurs, can cause great damage to the environment. As acidification of the waters of lakes, rivers and seas hinder the development of aquatic life in these waters, which greatly increases the mortality of fish. Also directly affects the vegetation, resulting in significant damage to forest areas. Also produced extensive damage in human praise., eg skin problems long time, also can cause damage to buildings and the environment in general.

  5. The earth is facing a lot of environmental problems today; humans cause these problems. In the search for the technology, humans begin to improve their lives without giving attention to what this development has caused to the other types of life on the face of the earth. Everyone is so caught up in paying attention to the growing industries and the growth of the community that they don’t realize how the things that are good for us as humans can also be harmful to all forms of life on earth. All aspects of life on the earth have been affected, as well as the sources of water.Water pollution is a global plague that affects the people, animals, and plants. These life forms need water to survive. Sea and river pollution is one of the problems that resulted from the new technology. Water is one of the most important sources of life on earth a lot of animals live in seas, rivers and lakes. In addition water in also important for humans, not just for drinking; seas are one of our main sources of food today, for example fish. Sea pollution has become one of the biggest problems facing our environment.
Water pollution has been a problem for a very long time. There are many different kinds of water pollution. Water pollution causes many problems with the living plants and animals in the water.Water has always been used to carry away unwanted trash. Since the beginning of civilization people have used our waters to dump their trash in. Rivers, streams, canals, lakes, and oceans are currently used as receptacles for every imaginable kind of pollution. Lakes are especially polluted because they cannot cleanse themselves as rapidly as rivers or oceans. Materials that decay over a short period of time are called, biodegradable materials. Biodegradable materials are less of a long-term threat to the enviroment.

  6. oil spills are caused when a ship carrying oil is damaged or disinterest of the oil companies. This problem causes immense damage to marine life. As it affects the part of the sea where the incident occurs and also affects coasts. the oil to reach the coast, the sediments are left in the sand to permeate the skin of people who go to the beach, like animals that they burned, and after suffering the damage so great that they oil spills they die, corals also suffered in this disaster, and the birds too, that by staying on the beach to not sink down into the spills are starving and cold on the coast. Where it is most common is that of the Persian Gulf, and the only solution is the "Double Inverted Funnel for the Intervention on Shipwrecks. " that is to remove the oil that is floating in the sea.

  7. Water pollution:
This problem occurs because people who live on this planet believe that our most valuable resource, water, is inexhaustible, then we waste a lot of water, plus all the waste we dump into our rivers and seas, making these water be non- potable in case of rivers and seas causing many species dying like turtles that become entangled in plastic bags or eat any debris and die, is because many of the pipes and rivers that reach the sea causing this pollution, the contamination this is fault entirely of human beings and we are quite unaware in this area that also affects us.
Possible solutions would be to take over and organize awareness campaigns to clean rivers and beaches to avoid killing the life in the sea or rivers because all species are important for the development of life on earth.

  8. Well there are many types of pollution like: agricultural pollution, industrial pollution and urban pollution etc ....
all these types of pollution are produced by humans this means that the only guilty and the main cause of pollution is the fault of human beings. Some specific causes are: the large amount of waste we produce are often exaggerated, transportation and industries that release gases very harmful and even the irresponsible and dirty people who do not mind taking care of the environment pulls the trash on the street and many other causes more! ...A BIG PROBLEM is presented by pollution and global warming:
"The melting of the polar areas. "
Is that because of global warming melting the polar regions gradually and this will cause the growth in sea level and with it the disappearance of many coastal areas and many species of animals in the world, especially polar bears and penguins and other species that inhabit these places.
This problem affects us all equally, the planet is suffering for us humans not seem to care what may happen as a result of such contamination and unless we act now the impact of the environment will be worse and all natural disasters will start to worsen because of us. The only solution is to be aware, start recycling, to pollute less and protect the planet.

  9. Damage in the ozone layer:
The layer of ozone is that covers and protects the Earth from ultraviolet rays and many types of radiation. For being human and other species this is of great importance in order to live, now if this was not the temperature of the world would be very high and all living beings not stand these high temperatures. Damage in the ozone layer is due to humans to pollute with aerosols, smoke from factories, smoke from cars, forest fires caused by humans, and many other products that destroy the ozone layer. Due to this damage in the ozone layer, there are major problems in the world such as the death of animals, high temperature, melt the Poles, increases the level of water in the sea, diseases such as cancer of skin due to the penetration of ultraviolet rays, high burn, loss of natural resources among others. To try to reverse this big problem, everyone must contribute our aid for the world grabbing recycling campaigns, consuming only what is necessary, and not using chemicals that affect, but above all thinking in the future for living better. I think if we really want our world, our life and everything around us would make major changes, support United and would not that the world fall into destruction but to help everyone that is needed. So you have to fight for a better world and not destroy it more and more.

  10. One of the biggest problems of humanity is the hole of the ozone layer. The hole in the ozone layer is the area of Earth's atmosphere where there are abnormal reductions of ozone layer, annual phenomenon observed during the spring in polar regions and is followed by a recovery during the summer.
This phenomenon was attributed to increased concentrations of chlorine and bromine in the stratosphere due to both anthropogenic emissions of chemical compounds, among which chlorofluorocarbons.
In the mid 1980's began to accumulate evidence that the late winter had formed a "hole in the ozone layer over the South Pole, where ozone has been reduced by almost 50%. During the winter in the stratosphere forms a stream of air that surrounds Antarctica and is known as "polar vortex" or vortex. The air trapped in this vortex becomes extremely cold during the polar night, which favors the formation of ice particles called polar stratospheric clouds.

    A hole threatening

Do not just look to the sky to locate the hole or holes in the ozone layer, an invisible threat. This problem, caused by the alteration of environmental conditions on Earth, is one of the most serious facing humanity.

The gap is not really a hole. It is rather a thinning of the ozone layer that surrounds our planet and has the power to filter UV radiation. This weight loss occurs with greater emphasis on the southern end of the Earth.

  11. greenhouse effect :
The greenhouse effect refers to circumstances where the short wavelengths of visible light from the sun pass through a transparent medium and are absorbed, but the longer wavelengths of the infrared re-radiation from the heated objects are unable to pass through that medium. The trapping of the long wavelength radiationleads to more heating and a higher resultant temperature. Besides the heating of an automobile by sunlight through the windshield and the namesake example of heating the greenhouse by sunlight passing through sealed, transparent windows, the greenhouse effect has been widely used to describe the trapping of excess heat by the rising concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. The carbon dioxide strongly absorbs infrared and does not allow as much of it to escape into space.
A major part of the efficiency of the heating of an actual greenhouse is the trapping of the air so that the energy is not lost by convection. Keeping the hot air from escaping out the top is part of the practical "greenhouse effect", but it is common usage to refer to the infrared trapping as the "greenhouse effect" in atmospheric applications where the air trapping is not applicable.
but we can stop the greenhouse effect now,
    doing things like:
    Use energy much more efficiently
    Phase out chlorofluorocarbons
Accelerate the transition to solar, wind, hydro, and biomass energy sources
Shift fossil fuel use away from coal and oil and toward natural gas.
eart needs our help!we can do the difference now!

  12. One of the biggest problems in the environment is the pollution of seas and rivers, the pollution is given by the carelessness of human beings because they are not interested in the welfare of the world or the future fence to take their children on this planet. Most people do not recycle or worrying to use recyclable materials would help much to the welfare of all. The pollution of seas and rivers is very serious because our water is that if we continue like we are polluting in a few years we will not have potable water. People use water in everything from bathing to prepare food and use it to wash water in our lives is essential and without it we die.
So you have to appreciate what we have at this time and care to the fullest. Several solutions exist between it is to use water rationally. That the factories are aware of the harm they are doing to people and pulling themselves waste at sea and rivers if they do this are not only harming people but also many animals that live in the oceans. These animals with so much garbage and n can swim and die from such trash.
This problem of water pollution occurs not only in Costa Rica if not given in most countries so we need to raise awareness and conserve water!

  13. Destruction of the ozone layer
This layer is very important in our life as it serves to purify the air and mostly serves to filter out ultraviolet rays from space. Without that filter the existence of life on earth would be impossible.
This layer has been damaged for various reasons which we all know as sprays and all kinds of pollution. But lately it has been discovered that there is another reason why the ozone layer has been being damaged.
For my part, I consider it important to know that between 19 and 23 kilometers above the earth's surface in the stratosphere, a thin coat of gas, the ozone layer, surrounds and protects Earth from harmful rays the sun.
Ozone is produced by the effect of sunlight on oxygen and is the only substance in the atmosphere that can absorb the harmful ultraviolet radiation from the sun. This thin coat known for Ozone Layer makes life possible on earth.
But not everything is so rosy today! : S
Scientists have been warning about a potential global crisis as a result of the progressive destruction of the ozone layer caused by chemical substances made by man, such as chlorofluorocarbons. Effects on human health. Skin cancer and also in the environment such as global warming
please help our planet which is our home and we are destroying it (:

  14. I'm going to talk about the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. It is a gyre of marine litter in the central North Pacific Ocean. The patch extends over an indeterminate area, with estimates ranging very widely depending on the degree of plastic concentration used to define the affected area. Although many media and advocacy reports have suggested the patch extends over an area larger than the continental U.S, recent research sponsored by the National Science Foundation suggests the affected area may be twice the size of Texas. The Patch is characterized by exceptionally high concentrations of plastics, chemical sludge, and other debris that have been trapped by the currents of the North Pacific Gyre. Despite its size and density, the patch is not visible from satellite photography. As material is captured in the currents, wind-driven surface currents gradually move floating debris toward the center, trapping it in the region. Some of these long-lasting plastics end up in the stomachs of marine birds and animals, and their young, including sea turtles and the Black-footed Albatross. Besides the particles' danger to wildlife, the floating debris can absorb organic pollutants from seawater. Aside from toxic effects, when ingested, some of these are mistaken by the endocrine system as estradiol, causing hormone disruption in the affected animal. These toxin-containing plastic pieces are also eaten by jellyfish, which are then eaten by larger fish. Many of these fish are then consumed by humans, resulting in their ingestion of toxic chemicals.
So far, no possible solutions have been found, as dealing with such a large amount of wastes in beyond all possibilities.

  15. POLLUTION BY FACTORIES
A serious problem is the pollution by factories that owners don't care the environment and only think of money.
According to some analysis, it said that these chemicals and substances will unfiltered air and stay there polluting our cities and our cause diseases such as asthma and colds.

Also damage the ozone layer and for example in Mexico some places you can't see the sun for a great cloud of pollution from factories don't allow.
This has negative consequences for the Earth as we now see more natural disasters

All factories must have filter for pollution isn't directly in the air and take care of our environment and health also.

  16. Destruction of the ozone layer
Said that since the industrial revolution has been expanding the hole in the ozone layer, therefore with this UV rays reaching the Earth's surface, they harm the health of people such as cancer development skin, eye injuries that cause cataracts, damage to aquatic ecosystems has been that the damage in some areas of clear water reaches up to 20 meters deep, and its consequent loss of phytoplankton (base of the marine food chain). The oceans lose their potential as a collector of CO2, further contributing to the greenhouse effect. In terms of flora, is causing major changes in the chemical composition of several species of plants and trees. It is also altering the growth of some plants and preventing photosynthesis. We can prevent the growth of this hole by using products such as deodorants that do not harm the ozone layer.
    Save our planet! ♥

  17. Generally, contamination of water occurs through direct or indirect introduction into aquifers or channels of various substances that can be considered as contaminants.
But there are two main forms of water pollution, one has to do with natural water pollution, which corresponds to this natural cycle that can get in touch with some constituent pollutants discharged into the earth's crust the atmosphere and water.
we know, the pollution of water is contaminated because of human activity, as the population grows each year, requiring more water, more food, more transport, more clothes, more resources and space in which to live.
the people produces the emission of toxic gasses pollution, metals and pesticides, the discharge of chemical waste and radioactive material, or accidents such as oil spills.
finally I think people should think about the problem we are causing it tomorrow we will be regretting

  18. Biodiversity is very important for life on our planet. Many species and ecosystems are becoming extinct due to human activities like illegal logging, pollution and overfishing. The loss of these species is very serious because the food chain depends on each one of these animals and plants.
If you think about it, the disappearance of species is the only irreversible environmental impact, because if a species becomes extinct, there is nothing you can do to bring her back.
The main causes of this serious problem eradicated in the daily activities of humans. Most humans do not think that if we throw a biscuit wrapper on the floor, or burn a place that is home to different animals and plants, we harm ourselves, because each one of the world's species are essential for the life of the rest of the food chain.
The only solution to this problem is the use of reason by the human race. We need to raise awareness about the damage we are causing, and what it impacts.

  19. Contamination is a process or act that causes materials or surfaces to be soiled with
contaminating substances. There are two broad categories of surface contaminants: film
type and particulates. These contaminants can produce a killer defect in a miniature
circuit. Film contaminants of only one little help can drastically reduce coating
adhesion on a wafer or chip. It is widely accepted that particles of 0.5 microns or larger are
the target. However, some industries are now targeting smaller particles.
A partial list of contaminants is found below. Any of these can be the source for killing a
circuit. Preventing these contaminants from entering the cleanroom environment is the
objective. It requires a commitment by everyone entering the cleanroom to make it
happen. Professional cleaning personnel need to be aware of the importance of controlling
contaminants. Strict procedures should be followed whenever entering or cleaning a
cleanroom. Compromise is not acceptable when cleaning in a cleanroom.
Contamination refers to the procedure of contaminating something, or the
condition of getting contaminated. It is the act of making something injurious
or inappropriate. It may also refer to someone that contaminates.
Foodstuff and drink that are made unsuitable for consumption by man or
animals due to harmful chemicals, radioactive substances, etc being there
, are contaminated. Basically, any unwanted substance that is present in a
food item, is a contamination of the same.

When we talk about pollution of the environment is a serious topic because we make this damage to the planet but we don’t see it, most of people burn his garbage and they didn’t see that doing that our ozone layer breaks down more and more and let pass the ultraviolet rays that they crash direct to the earth and provokes serious damages in ourselves, this is not only what the human beings are making, they also pulling garbage to pollute rivers and make a strong damage to the fauna or flora or even our rivers that are very important for the country where we live, the people here don’t care about our rivers or beaches that’s why they are too much contaminated, factories also do a lot of contamination by fumes released but the people did not care about it because they saw it every day and doesn’t do anything to stop it.
